The Administration for Children & Families (ACF), a division of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), promotes the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals and communities with funding, strategic partnerships, guidance, training and technical assistance.

ACF has a Tribal Consultation Policy that aligns with the HHS Tribal Consultation Policy. Annually, we hold a consultation session. During the session, ACF Principals will be available to speak with tribal leaders to discuss issues important to the tribes and ACF tribal program priorities.

The 2018 ACF Tribal Consultation will be held on Thursday, September 13 in Washington, D.C. at the Capitol Skyline Hotel, 10 “I” (eye) Street SW. This consultation will include topics such as proposed changes to welfare programs as outlined in the President’s Executive Order, Family First Prevention Services Act and Title IV-E (in the Children’s Bureau), Head Start, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
