NIEA’s Convention and Trade Show is the nation’s premier event for bringing together educators, tribal leaders, advocates, parents, students, and other stakeholders to discuss and determine the future of native education. This 4-day event explores education research, policy, advocacy, teaching and learning pedagogies, assessments, and other critical topics that ultimately increase educational opportunities for our American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students.
This year’s event promises to be especially exciting as we expect to attract over 2,000 participants from all across the country, including special dedication to past Board Presidents over the half-century since our founding in 1969.
Our theme — Celebrating 50 years of Building Education Nations: Strengthening and Advancing Native Control of Native Education — will not only celebrate our successes but also look forward to the next 50 years as we continue to ensure Native students are given the opportunity to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
