This two-day course will cover strategies for effective grant writing and sustainable fundraising for affordable housing development and rehabilitation; program capacity building; and resident services/self-sufficiency activities. On the first day, participants will discuss how to assess their funding needs and identify possible sources of public and private sector funding. They will also begin learning about the key components of a typical funding proposal including a statement of need, program goals, management capacity, implementation schedules, evaluation, intended program outputs and outcomes, and long-term program sustainability. On the second day, participants will continue to hone their skills to prepare effective funding proposals and will explore other revenue-generating strategies. This hands-on course will feature interactive exercises to test participant knowledge and peer sharing discussions on fundraising and grant writing tips.
