These free trainings are designed to provide prospective eligible applicants with skills to plan successful and fundable projects.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Work with community and key partners to identify and document specific community conditions that stand in the way of achieving community goals
  • Create a project work plan to address those community conditions and attain community goals
  • Develop measurable outcomes and impacts that will successful implement the work plan; and
  • Determine the level of resources and funding needed to implement the project.

Given the substantial changes that will be part of the ANA Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), it is important that projects be well developed to meet FOA scoring criteria. The training sessions are being offered free of charge to tribal governments and native non-profit organizations. Each participant is responsible for paying their own travel costs to attend the training.

Participation in the training sessions are limited to individuals who are employed by or are governing officials of tribal governments and native nonprofit organizations serving American Indians, Native Hawaiians, Alaskan Natives, and Native American Pacific Islanders. Independent grant writers must provide a signed letter on organization stationary with their registration form in order to attend.
